I have my config file left to default settings to my TivoHD, on Mcbrine's 3/12/12 build. All movies are sent overscanned in either width or height, depending on which dimension needed to fill the screen. For example, a movie wider than 16:9 will have its sides cut off. A 4:3 movie will fill the screen, cutting off the tops and bottom.

I thought Pytivo knew automatically not to do this and "pad" the top or bottom depending on what was needed? Can I disable this behavior?

Thanks and hats off to mcbrine for his wonderful implementation.

PS I'm using latest Fffmpeg nightly. Is there any reason I would want to use the Rdian06 version suggested by the install instructions?

Press the "Aspect" (or possibly "Zoom") button on your remote. Toggle to "Panel" mode. It sounds like you're on "Zoom".

pyTivo doesn't pad at all with Series 3+, because the TiVo can already handle any shape.

D'oh!

Of course you are right, that fixed it. Only watch HD stuff so didn't know it was set to Zoom!

PS okay to use ffmpeg nightlies?

I have no opinion on ffmpeg versions or builds. I don't even use Windows.
