I've managed to build pyTivo into an installable rpm. It puts everything in /opt/pyTivo so all you have to do is copy the init script to /etc/init.d, edit the config file and fire it up. I guess I should figure out how to get that done automatically. (Part of the reason I did this was to get my feet wet in rpm building.)

I'm not guaranteeing or warranting anything it might or might not do. But I've run it through a few test installs and so far I've not found anything amiss.

I tested it on a Fedora 15 and a Scientific Linux 6.1 system. Both installs went fine. Yum on the SL box correctly identified the need for ffmpeg and pulled it down for the install.

I used wmcbrine's fork that I downloaded a week or so ago so it is pretty recent. And I could refresh it without too much difficulty.

Any thoughts?
