Hi all and I'm sure this question has been asked many times but I can't seem to find it. How do ya make your Tivo read the txt files pyTivoMetaGen created? Do you have to attach them to the media file and if so how? Im making a spare Tivo unit as my media center for all the movies on DVD and the correct metadata would be the icing on the cake for me and also is it possible to make folders (like tv series) for your movies that have more then one movie to it. For example, I have all Back to the Future movies and I would love to have it in a folder of it's own.

They just sit beside the original files -- if your file is movie.mpg, then the metadata file is movie.mpg.txt -- and pyTivo handles them when it reads that directory. (Alternatively you can place them in a ".meta" directory underneath the directory where the movie files are.)

And yes, you can make folders on the TiVo. But let's make sure you've got metadata files down first...

On Windows make sure you have viewing file extensions enabled in your Folder Options so you can actually name the files correctly.
