pyTivo was working beautifully for me for a few days. Once I got the folders thing figured out I thought I was home free at least until a software update. But this morning I got up and when I try to go to any video folder I am getting:
The (sharename) PC's Now Playing List could not be displayed because it is unavailable. Press LEFT to return to the Now Playing List.

And if I try to go to a music folder I get:
An unexpected error occurred while accessing the server.
(Error#3-5-6)

Not sure what's up... The files are accessible from the server just fine, and I restarted pyTivo.

I decided to run pyTivo in a terminal window to monitor its output and it seems to say it's 404ing the requests. Not sure what would cause this since the Tivo's request should be based on what pyTivo has already told it is available and the folders are showing up just fine, just not their contents.

Code:
192.168.0.124 - - [07/Feb/2008 13:06:08] "GET /TiVoConnect?Command=QueryContainer&Container=%2Fvideo%2Ftest&SortOrder=!CaptureDate&ItemCount=8&Filter=x-tivo-container%2Ftivo-videos,x-tivo-container%2Ffolder,video%2Fx-tivo-mpeg,video%2F* HTTP/1.1" 404 -

The mp3 error is more complex. I'll show that too in case anyone cares to decode it. I haven't changed a thing to my knowledge. I'm really not sure what could be causing this...

Code:
192.168.0.124 - - [07/Feb/2008 13:10:14] "GET /TiVoConnect?Command=QueryContainer&Container=%2F HTTP/1.0" 200 -

KeyError: ''

notes: This is a Series2 unit running 9.1. I am using the SubFoldersBranch 01-04-08 release obtained from the main site. My server is running FC5 if that makes a difference.

Any help is appreciated.

sorry... realized I'd left that out and you asked while I was updating. Smile

OK, that version is archaic. Try the latest from my sig. (Just click on the "Snapshot" link nearest the top for a .tar.gz.)

ok, switched to the latest version from your link and it is behaving exactly the same. hmm. I'll have to think long and hard about what's changed on the server, but I don't recall anything specific since the last time it worked (not more than 2 days ago). If anyone has any suggestions, I'm listening.
