|
|
I tried to make a slight modification to the Windows Installation instructions and got this error message when I tried to "Save Page"
| Quote: | Deprecated: Assigning the return value of new by reference is deprecated in /usr/share/pear/Mail.php on line 154
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 20971520 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 30720 bytes) in /usr/share/pear/PEAR.php on line 544 |
I'm using Chrome on Win 7.
Any ideas?
TIA |

Happens every other time for me or one similar. Just return to the previous page and submit again. _________________ My pyTivo fork - Read link for changes

Yeah, I saw that yesterday, but my edits had gone through anyway. _________________ My pyTivo fork . My page |

| I've submitted the page multiple times. I always get the error and the updates don't ever show up in the wiki. |

Never not had it go through after the 2nd time. I would try IE or Firefox just to see if it would with that instead.
...I just tested editing the Windows_Install page and while I got a memory exhausted error on 1st submit (although it was a different PHP file) I returned and submitted again which worked fine. Using Firefox 10. _________________ My pyTivo fork - Read link for changes

| I tried IE 9. Same problem. I don't have FF installed and don't plan on installing it. |

I had some time this morning and briefly looked into this. It appears that the problem is with wiki server and not anything to do with my system. You can google "php Fatal error: Allowed memory size" and "php memory leak Fatal error: Allowed memory size" and see a number of fixes/potential problems.
I'll try and figure out who runs the server and give them this thread reference.
Here is the suggested fix |

| Hmm, sorry for the issues, I will try and look into it. In the past some of the errors are caused by the way sourceforge has designed their servers and are difficult to resolve. |

OK, in theory I more than doubled the memory limit, but who knows if it will work.
I was never able to reproduce the problem, so if others who saw it can report back I would appreciate it. |
