It just took me nearly 10 hours to transcode a 2 hr movie. The final 2 lines read as follows:

frame=429193 fps= 11 q=2.0 Lsize= 9709710kB time=7159.9 bitrate=11109.3kbits/s
video:3651645kB audio:335622kB global headers:0kB muxing overhead 143.517946%

I've transcoded plenty for use on the PC and the overhead is usually just 1-2% at most. Any thoughts? Is ffmpeg just misreading something?

I don't know if this is relevant, but the above was an HD transfer at 1280x720 going to my S3. If I transfer something to my S2 units, the overhead is very low as expected.

What was the input file? (Format, Dimensions, Bitrates).

What version of ffmpeg?

Seems stream 0 codec frame rate differs from container frame rate: 29.97 (30000/1001) -> 59.94 (60000/1001)
Duration: 01:59:20.3, start: 7123.903156, bitrate: 10273 kb/s
Program 1
Stream #0.0[0x11]: Video: mpeg2video, yuv420p, 1920x1080 [PAR 1:1 DAR 16:9], 14000 kb/s, 59.94 tb(r)
Stream #0.1[0x14](eng): Audio: liba52, 48000 Hz, 5:1, 384 kb/s

I'm using the Feb 12 snapshot that includes caching which has ffmpeg SVN-r11870.

I think the problem might be that I had removed "-r 29.97" from the command line. I was moving a lot of stuff that was either 23.97 or 25 fps, all of which work fine on S2 and S3 boxes. I used a small snippet of the .TS file and forced -29.97. The filesize was about the same as without forcing it but the overhead.
