All of a sudden a few days ago I started getting an empty NPL on my from my networked drive. No (TiVo) errors or "folder is empty" - just an empty page.
Local shares seem to be OK, just the network one has suddenly gone wonky. I hadn't updated anything, rebooted anything, or changed any passwords - it just stopped working. A restart of pyTiVo (on both my servers) as well as a TiVo reboot hasn't fixed the problem.
I looked at the console & debug & found the following when trying to access the offending share.
~~~ debug.txt
| Quote: | httpserver.132 [unsupported] Unsupported request, yup it is video send to video plugin for it to sort out.
httpserver.126 [unsupported] Unsupported request, checking to see if it is video. |
~~~ console
| Quote: | 192.168.xxx.xxx - - [17/Mar/2008 00:03:41] "GET /TiVoConnect?Command=QueryFormats&SourceFormat=video%2Fx-tivo-mpeg HTTP/1.1" 404 -

404 - |
Browsing to the folder works just fine so I copied some stuff locally - no problems. I emptied the folder except for those items, it failed. I emptied the folder COMPLETELY - it STILL failed (not sure what it's seeing as "yup it is video"...)
Does anybody have any thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

The fix is, um, well me not being an idiot.
All my problem shares had an ampersand (&) in the title which got stuff confused with querystring parms. I tried %38 (which show up as "%38") and (just for fun) & - which actually split the share name at the &....odd.
Anyway, TiVo was displaying the titles (eg: Sanford & Son) correctly, but pyTiVo was getting confused - is there some URL encoding that can be done or does it just come from the TiVo unencoded so there's not much we can do about it?
Thanks!
