Odd folder behavior, is this normal?

I just noticed the other day that all the shows in folders that I created by pushing show up now within each folder as "folder title: episode title" where before they showed just as normal recorded series do within a folder "episode title". Just to see what would happen I pushed another show to one of these created folders and boom, the entire folder reverted back to what it was before within that folder, just "episode title".
Is there a time limit or something on created folder behavior?
